ALA WAI HARBOR FLOATING DOCK REPLACEMENT REQUIRES BOAT RAMP CLOSURE
HONOLULU – Construction and installation of a new floating dock at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor on Oʻahu starts next Monday, Nov. 2. The project will require a closure of the boat ramp and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.
The Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DLNR DOBOR) is pleased to announce that the work will replace the existing damaged and structurally compromised floating docks with upgraded ADA-compliant models.
Sea Engineering, Inc. is the contractor for the two-month project, which has a total construction cost of just over $493,000.
The entire Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor ramp will be closed for the duration of the project for boater and worker safety. Boaters may use the boat ramps at Maunalua Bay or Keʻehi Harbor during construction.
